Since the beginning, dreams, and nightmares have been secretly made for humans by a species called ‘Makers’. Protected by a magical Shield, their planet Somnus has remained hidden. Until now.

Seventeen-year-old Dream Maker Nyah was taught never to trust humans but when she accidentally falls into a dream and meets Cole, she begins to question everything. 

When nightmare beasts attack her city, Nyah is forced to use her rare powers to slay them. Hailed a hero, she becomes a threat to the crown. The queen of Somnus learns about Nyah and Cole’s secret dreams and forbidden romance, and gives Nyah an ultimatum: locate the magical Destined on Earth to heal the growing rip in Somnus’ protective shield, or be sentenced to death for her crime. 

Nyah then journeys to a fallen star who reveals that there is not one but four Destineds, including Cole. If they are not found, Earth and Somnus will fall into darkness for eternity. 

Landing on Earth, Nyah must stay awake to stay human. She’s now against the clock to find Cole, save her planet, and her life before she falls asleep and loses it all.
